After more than 10 years, Dimitri Demjanov (70), jury member of the most prestigious gastronomy competition in the world, Bocuse d’Or, and President of Bocuse d’Or Estonia is passing the baton to top chef Vladislav Djachuk (39). According to Djachuk, who takes over the organization of competitions in Estonia, the excellent progress made so far guarantees that Estonian gastronomy will continue its success on the international arena.

Chef de cuisine at Restaurant Farm, Dmitri Rooz, placed among the top 11 out of 20 contestants at the Bocuse d’ Or Europe thus securing a place for Estonia in the final. The final of the highest rated culinary competition takes place in Lyon, France in January 2017.

Estonian chef Dmitri Rooz, the semi-finalist in the prestigious culinary competition Bocuse d´Or, presented his competition entry to local gastronomy aficionados. In May he will be competing in the European Final which is held in Budapest, and in order to advance to the grande finale the Estonian must place among the top 12 in the semi-finals.

Today in Stockholm marks the first day of the European semi-finals of Bocuse d’Or, also called the Culinary Olympics, and Estonia is determined to make it to the finals. This year’s candidate, Dmitri Haljukov, has been training for the event for more than eight months and has spent the last few days in Stockholm under the supervision of his local trainer, top chef and Bocuse d’Or 2009 silver medallist, Jonas Lundgren.

The chef of Restaurant Cru, Dmitri Haljukov, who is representing Estonia at the Bocuse d’Or European semi-finals in Stockholm on May 7 and 8, will have his final 5-hour training session today under the supervision of the Swedish chef Jonas Lundgren. The results of the 8-month training period are presented today at Restaurant Gloria to guests of honour and food enthusiasts.

Heidy Pinnak, the chef or Restaurant Egoist, achieved 14th place at the Bocuse d’Or, the competition often referred to as the culinary Olympics. With this achievement Estonia passed such culinary powers as Italy and the Netherlands and improved its final standing by one place compared to last time. From regional qualifying rounds altogether 24 countries made it to the final.
